New Visitation Policy

Para Español

Mission Regional Medical Center remains committed to the continuing good health of our community and is currently focused on both the containment and mitigation of COVID-19.

As updates have come in from the CDC, and in efforts to keep our patients safe and lower the risk of COVID-19, we have updated our Visitation Policy.

As of today, Thursday, March 4, 2021 and until further notice, the visitation rules are as follow:

  • Adult Inpatient (Non-Covid19) Units: One (1) adult support person is allowed per day during the hours of noon to 6 p.m. (Same visitor for the duration of the stay) This does not apply for patients in COVID-19 treatment areas.
  • Non-Covid19 ICU Unit: Two (2) designated visitors throughout the duration
of the admission during the hours of 12:00PM-6:00PM. The 2 designated visitors can visit the patient separately.
  • Emergency Department: One adult support person is allowed in the ER treatment area unless otherwise restricted by the treating ER physician. Pediatric patients are allowed one support person at all times (Same visitor for the duration of the stay). If the patient is admitted, visitation will follow the above inpatient visitation guidelines.
  • Labor and Delivery: One adult support person is allowed for 24 hours per day (Same visitor for the duration of the stay).
  • NICU: Two (2) adult support persons/parents are allowed (Same visitors for the duration of the stay). NICU visitation is subject to the neonatologist’s approval as to the number and hours of visitation.
  • Outpatient Areas (Imaging, Labs, Day Surgery, etc): One adult support person may accompany the patient and wait in the waiting area (Same visitor for the duration of the stay).
  • End of Life Considerations Non-Covid19 ICU patients: Patients in a critical state at end of life are permitted 2-3 visitors, for a limited time. 1 of the 2 designated visitors may stay at all times and overnight with the patient as needed.
  • End of Life Considerations Non-Covid19 Units: For patients who are at end-of-life (whether an Inpatient or an ER), the attending physician may modify the visitation rules above as to number of visitors and hours of visitation.
  • Visitor Screening Requirement: All visitors will be screened upon entry to the hospital and will be required to wear an approved mask (no bandanas or neck tube coverings permitted), at all times while in MRMC facility.
  • Rehab Unit: One (1) visitor per day (Same visitor for the duration of the stay). Visitor cannot exit and return on the same day.

Children under the age of 18 will not be allowed to enter for patients registering and we ask patients to please refrain from bringing children or a guest with you, if possible, if you are needing emergent care.

Each person entering through the ER or Main Lobby must pass a series of screening questions, temperature check, COVID-19 Symptoms, possible exposure and recent travel history. Must observe all hospital protocols and appropriate social distancing.

We understand that family and friends are an important part of the healing process and, when possible, we encourage patient use of mobile devices to stay in touch with loved ones during their stay. For updates and information on your loved one, please call 956-323-9000
