The Auxiliary at Mission Regional Medical Center sponsored a school supply
drive to benefit the Rio Grande Valley Children’s Home in Mission.
The week long campaign collected enough supplies for an estimated 80-100
students. Requested items included: writing utensils, erasers, pocket
folders, calculators, protractors, compasses, rulers, crayons, 3-ring
binders, handheld pencil sharpeners, notebooks, ruled filler paper, scissors and glue.
The Rio Grande Valley’s Children’s Home is an organization
that provides basic child care for dependent, neglected and orphaned children.
“Our volunteers did this from their heart. They wanted to ensure
the children had the necessary school supplies to be successful in their
studies, “ said Lilliam Santana-Barrera, Director of Volunteer Services.
The Auxiliary at Mission Regional Medical Center provides support, donates
time and equipment and act as ambassadors for the hospital. If you would
