Mission Regional Medical Center Throws a Big Reunion Party for Babies and Their Families

10-09-2009

Mission Regional Medical Center celebrated the Gift of Life with graduates of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at its 4th Annual Little Miracles NICU Reunion Party on Wednesday, October 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Mission Regional Medical Center.

The Hospital hosted a Circus theme reunion party for the families of more than 450 exceptional babies who were cared for in their Level III NICU since August 2005. The little NICU graduates and their families gathered.

Guests enjoyed entertainment, music, games, and prizes. Families received a gift along with heavy hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, cake and a variety of other desserts. The reunion gives families an opportunity to meet once again with the NICU staff, as well socialize with other parents.

Throughout the year, our team of nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, dieticians and pharmacists worked hard to make sure each baby received the best care possible, giving parents peace of mind. "It is nice to know we have made a difference to so many families," said Anne Wilson, director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Many parents have remained in contact with the staff, updating them on the progress of their children and thanking them for their care.

Mission Regional Medical Center is pleased to have impacted the lives of so many families in a positive way. The hospital is proud of the level of care, the success of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the commitment of its staff.
